Thankful day 9

Today I'm thankful for my mother-in-law. She has been very helpful to us with Jojo. Every other week she makes the trek to our house to watch Jojo. She has always made me feel like part of the family. Bev is a terrific person. We are lucky to have her.

Thankful day 8

Not just today but every day I am thankful for Jojo's sitter Brittany.  She is an amazing mom to her 3 beautiful girls.  Britt keeps her family together while her husband is away for school or Naval duty.  Ever since I met her I have told her she is my angel on earth.  Even through her diagnosis and treatment she is still a trooper.  She has become a great friend and someone I turn to for advice.   I am blessed for Britt and her family to be in our lives.

Thankful day 7

Today I am thankful for my husband.  Sure it's hard to maintain a good realationship and we have out ups and down.  But that's what life is all about.  I am truly blessed to be married to Jason.  He is a jack of all trades for sure. I don't know many people with his drive and intelligence.  So glad he is mine.

Thankful day 6

Today I am thankful for my good friends.  Sometimes it can be months before we are able to get together but things are never strained.  In life you find out who your true friends are.

Thankful day 5

Today I am thankful for my job.  Even though it's can be quite trying at times it helps keep clothes on our backs, food on the table, and gas in the car.

Thankful day 4

My home. Even though we don't spend as much time as I would like here. We are very blessed to have a roof over our head. There are many people who aren't as fortunate.

Thankful day 3

A fun day with family and friends. Even though my day was very hectic, it was well worth it. Family is always number one

Thankful day 2

I become more and more thankful everyday that God has blessed me with my sweet boy. Not a day goes by that I don't thank God for such a precious gift. As with everything not all days are sunshine and roses but I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Thankful day 1

To kick off my month of thankfulness it goes without saying I am very thankful that our families did not receive any damage from Hurricane Sandy. The worst part of the storm was for my family in Western Maryland who were without power for over 24 hrs. Things could have been much worse. I am truly thankful that God was watching over us!

Let's go to the Beach!

At the end of July we were lucky enough to get to steal away for a few days with Jason's family and headed to the beach.  What a great time!  We had a lot of fun with the kids and just beng with family.

We spent our few days there soaking up the sand, sun, and water.  It was great.  Jojo wasn't to sure of the sand at first but quickly got acclimated.  It was so nice for him to be able to play with his cousins. On my bucket list for next year if we go is parasailing.  It looks like so much fun!

While we were there we met up with Moriah for some family pics on the beach.  They turned out amazing.  I am grateful for being able to have the opportuinty to have them taken.  Here is my favorite shot of them all.  There is something about this picture that makes my heart happy.  I cried when I saw this for the first time!

After the beach we spent the rest of our vacation at home in Finzel.  We ended the week with a trip to Idlewild park with Amy, Clint, and the kids and our friend Todd and his son.  A good time was had by all.  We couldn't have asked for a better day.

18 months

Yes, you read that correctly.  My baby is 18 months.  It's so hard to believe.  I am more in love with Jojo every single day.

We had his 18 month check last week where he weighed in at 25.8 lbs and 33.5".  Jojo is the the 50% for weight and 84% height.  The head is still large and in charge coming in at 97%.  I still say its because it is housing your large brain.  I hate to brag but you amaze my every day with your vocabulary and the things your remember.

I made Jojo a half birthday cake which he really enjoyed. Much more than his smash cake for his first birthday!

As I said your vocabulary is quiet something.  Things I didn't even know you knew you show everyday.  On a recent trip to the park you were running and stopped pointed to the sky and said "moon".  Just like you knew it forever.  You will repeat everything good and bad.  We are working on the bad.  LOL!  My favorite things your are saying reently are "hold you" when you want ot be held and "love you".  Be still my heart.  Sweet as pie!

Jojo is still an eating machine.  His favorite things are blueberries, bananas, green beans, peas, and tomatoes.  "Eat" is one of his favorite things.  Jojo has master the fork for most part.  He won't eat unless he has one in his hand.

We have had a lot of fun this summer and his all time favorite past time would be anything involving water.  He is also loving cows.  When we are driving he asks where the cows are?  If you ask him what a cow eats he will say "hay" or grass".  The kid loves animals.

My life is much fuller with Jojo in it.  I am proud to be his mommy.

MIA .....

Now here is  huge post to catch up.  I neglected to do a 16mo and 17 mo post about Jojo.   He has survived though.  LOL.  This summer has been super busy.  We have been playing outside a ton, swimming in the pool, helping daddy fix things, and riding toys everywhere.  So here is the start of the catch up....

Father's Day Jojo and I took Jason to Bonefish for dinner followed by Coldstone.  It was a win win for everyone.  When we got home we had a few visitors in our yard.  First time in a awhile I have seen deer in our yard.  It was funny to see Jojo's reaction.  He thought they were dogs.

Fourth of July was spent with good friends.  We were invited to Jason and Molly's house for a picnic and swimming.  This was the first time I was able to swim with Jojo.  It was a nice relaxing day.  Erin and Jojo are good buddies.

One weekend when we were home I met up with Cara and 2 of her boys and we went to Build-A Bear workshop.  Jojo seemed to enjoy it.  He picked out a brown dog and calls him "Pup-a".  This is the only animal he has shown an attachment to.  He is usually in the car with us all the time.  Once in awhile he will want to bring him in and play.

Occasionally Jojo wakes up before I have gotten my shower.  When this happens Jojo get to sit on my bed and have breakfast in bed.  It usually consists of Cheerios and some kind of fruit.

This summer was Jojo's first corn on the cob experience.  Uncle Timmy gave us some yummy corn and Jojo went to town.   He did surprisingly well

We have taken Jojo to the carnival a couple times this year. The first was much less crowded and hot then this last time.  But we were able to take Caroline with us.  Love her.  Thanks to Jason and Molly for "Beep Beep" it is better for Jojo.  He doesn't seem to mind riding in the car.

Another favorite spot recently has been Paradise of Fun in the FSK mall.  We met up with Cara and the boys one Saturday morning and they had a blast.  Just a month before our last visit Jojo needed help on most of the pieces.  Not this time.

We have be super lucky to inherit a lot of super nice toys for Jojo.  Molly and Jason gave us " Beep Beep" car, a roller coaster , and a swing.  Clint and Amy gave us a slide and Jeff and Linda gave us an incredible pool.  Jojo has been loving them all.  We also bought him a little  outside chair.  Jojo also learned how to spray the hose.  He loves water.

Jojo sat all by himself this past month for his haircut.  The kids loves to get his hair cut.  He sits very well for as little as he is.  By now he is a pro.

Our well pump went last weekend and Jojo helped daddy fix it.  He is in love with fixing things and using anything and everything as a screwdriver.

This petty much sums up our lives for the last two months.  I will leave you with possible two of the cutest kids ever.  My wish for them is that they are able to remain close friends forever.

15 months

Welcome to the life of a toddler.  My little guy is on the move constantly.  Jojo is continuing to grow and thrive.  This past Friday we had his 15 month check-up.  He is growing and developing right on target.  Weighing in at 24.2 lbs and 31.5" we are blessed with a happy, healthy, very energetic boy.  I am wouldn't have it any other way.
Currently Jojo's favorite things to play with are anything but your toys. Rakes, brooms, mops, and thing with a long handle is your best friend.  Jojo spent the whole day one Saturday playing with Granny's cane.

We spend a lot of time out "side".  Jojo still loves riding in his truck, playing with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, riding on the tractor/ four wheeler. We ate dinner on the deck one night and Jojo was in heaven.

Jojo still loves to read books.  His current favorite is still "Moo, Baa, La,La,La" and his first word books.  One night while we were looking at the book Jojo was able to "read" identify all the pictures and I didn't have to tell him.  My boy is growing so fast.

Jojo is still trying to master feeding himself.  He does pretty good but still needs some work.  Climbing is another favorite past time for him.  His vocabulary is pretty extensive in my opinion.  He knows alot of his body parts, probably about 8 animals sounds.  Jojo enjoys to dance to music of any kinds and his favorite is still Mickey Mouse.

We ended the month with an ear infection. Jojo was on an antibiotic and got better quickly and then had a reaction to the medicine.  He is a trooper though and was his happy self for all but a day.  Hoping we don't have to many of those in our future.
