13 months

13 months.  What a trip its been.  Our first month of Jojo being a toddler went well.  He is definitely becoming his own person and developing his own personality.

After a lull in talking due to walking is my guess, Jojo is back at it in full force.  Here are some favorites
  • Momma
  • Dadda or Dad-deeeee
  • ball (anything round is a ball)  On a trip to Target he freaked out when he saw the big red ball out front.
  • Thank you
  • puff please
  • done
  • more
  • drink
  • bubble
  • shoes
  • socks
  • I am sure there are more if we could understand
Jojo has been walking for a couple months and is now running.  It is the sweetest thing. We have encountered a busted top lip and a busted bottom lip this month.  Sometime he goes too fast.

Since we have been having such great weather Jojo is super happy.  The boy loves being outside.  He has been riding in his truck, going to the park, chasing bubbles, and riding his 4 wheeler.

We still have an excellent eater on our hand. I am forever grateful for this.  I hope he is like his daddy and continues to be a great eater.  When he is done eating he says done.  Last night he was using his spoon to feed himself off my plate.  He is growing so much.

My favorite part of the day is bedtime.  Not because I have some time to myself but because I get to snuggle with Jojo.  He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  After bath and teeth brushing we watch Mickey and I get some snuggles.  There are no words to express how much that brightens my day.

What a joy it is to be a mom!

One year photo shoot

Jojo had his 1 year photo shoot with the very talented Natalie Lane Photography.  I must say she captured Jojo at his finest.  I love these pictures.  Hope you enjoy them too.

Monster Bash

Last Saturday we had a birthday party for Jojo.  It's hard to believe our little monster is a year old. We had a monster themed party and I think it turned out really cute.  Jojo is so very lucky to have such great families that love and care about him.  There were about 65 people there.  Miss Brittany and family made the trip to celebrate with us.  It was so nice to have her there.
We had lots of good food and fun.  On menu was soup and sandwiches.  Also we had a fruit monster, veggies, chips, crackers, and cupcakes with ice cream.

Jojo had lots of cousins to play with.  We wish we were able to have all of our friends as well. With such big families it  wasn't possible.

We played some games.  The bean bag toss was a big hit as well as pin the eye on the monster.  One little monster hate a bunch of M&M's.  So we had a guessing game for everyone.

It wouldn't be a first birthday with out a smash cake.  Jojo isn't big on smashing the cake.  He more or less just stuck his fingers in the icing.

All the kids got to "adopt" a monster and also received one in there gift bag.  A big thank you to "Mimi" for all her hard work in making them.  They were beautiful and so cute.  The kids loved them.

The photo booth was also a big hit.  It was kind of a pain to get it in the car. But we made it.  Jason painted it and got it all set up.

I am hoping everyone had a great time.  I am pretty sure Jojo did.  Here are some random pics of the rest of the day.

I love this paper
Big boy!

This is my favorite picture from the party!

My first truck

For Jojo's birthday present we got him the Little Tykes Cozy Truck.  It is a hit.  We wheeled it into the house and he immediately fell in love with it.  As we were preparing dinner Jojo hung out in his new ride.  He loves the horn.  It sounds just like a tractor trailer.  Jojo would try to stand up and climb through the back window.  Almost everyday since he received his gift he has played with it.  Now we just need some warmer weather so we can take him outside.  They are calling for highs in the 70's on Thursday so that might be our chance.  I think Momma is as excited as Jojo.

Jojo's birthday

One week ago my little man turned 1.  It's was hard to believe how fast that year went.  Jojo is a super special little boy so Momma tried to make his birthday special too.

I was able to slip into Jojo's room and fill it with balloons for him to see when he woke up.  At first you were a little grumpy because Momma had to wake you.  Then you were excited to see them.

Next stop was daycare.  Jojo was greeted by his favorite person Maddison.  She went into school late so she could see Jojo and give him his present.  She loves him so much.  Miss Brittany had a special lunch plan for him as well. Jojo was able to play with is friends part of the day.  Miss Brittany even made special cake pops for the lunch celebration.

I picked Jojo up early and we headed to the doctor for his check up.  He is doing great he weighed in at 23 lbs and is 30" long, 50 percentile for both.  Jojo had to get 4 shots and he was not a fan at all.  When we went home we played a little and I tried to get some pictures.  It wasn't a complete failure.

We headed to Frederick for your very first birthday dinner.  We chose Mariachi.  It is one of Momma and Daddy's favorites.  Jojo was acting silly and singing loud through out dinner.
Jojo finished up his birthday dinner of chicken, rice, beans and guacamole with a nice dish of ice cream with caramel and whipped cream.  He loved it.

We ended the day by watching a little Mickey Mouse clubhouse and lots of kisses and hugs.  I hope Jojo had a great day even though he will never remember.

 I love you Jojo.
