1 month!

My how time flies.  Everyone has told me when you have children time flies so much faster.  They weren't lying.  It's hard to believe that just 4 weeks ago my precious baby was new to the world.  Today he is a month old.  Jojo is doing great.  He is a wonderful baby and so good.

On Thursday I had Jojo's pics taken by a photographer here at the house.  He did so good and the photographer was amazing.  I can't wait to ge the cd of pics to share with you all.

We made our first venture home over the weekend with great success.  It was wonderful to be home and see my family and be able to get out of the house for a little bit.  Jojo got to meet most of his family over the weekend.  We are very blessed to have such wonderful families.  Friday night my sister and her kids came to visit and my mom brought us supper. Uncle Keith and Tracy also stopped in for a few minutes.   Saturday we had a visit from my best friend Tracy and my Uncle Kenny.  I was so happy to see them.  I hadn't been home for 3 months.  Gran and I braved taking Jojo on his first outing and he was as good as gold.  We ran into my Aunt Tammy.  It was good to see her as well.  We had lunch and went to Walmart.  Jojo slept the whole time. When we got back home Donna, Kev, Steph, Haley and Austin came to visit.  Haley had a gift for Jojo.  She made him a quilt.  It is so cute.  I will have to post a  pic it.  She is such a sweet girl.  Sunday we had more visitors.  Jesse and Jessica, Aunt Doris, Uncle Kenny, Tracy, Erica, and Aunt Jill.  We also went to the turkey dinner at the fire hall.  There Jojo was greeted b everyone.    We had a wonderful trip home and it was great to be out of the house and see everyone.

Today was Jojo's 1 month check up.  He is getting so big already.  He weighs 8lbs 12 oz and is 22.5" long.  He got a shot and had got a clean bill of health.  The doctor is please with him.  We do have to return in 2 weeks for a weight check.  Just to make sure he is continuing to gain the way he should.

Here are a few pics from the last week and weekend.

Hope everyone has a great week.

3 weeks

Jojo is doing great.  He has had some fussiness but we are getting through it.  Sometimes it doesn't feel like we will be able to make it but  we do and he is back to being a good baby.  Some how you remember those fussy times more so than the good times.  We ended up taking Jojo to the doctor on Friday for his belly button.  The stump fell off last Sunday and it had been bleeding ever since.  Not a lot but enough to scab over.  I was worried about infection.  A quick trip to the doctor and everything is fine.  She said it still needed to dry out from the inside out.  They weighed him while we were there and he is back up to his birth weight.  I guess I am good for something.  LOL!  We are to have pictures taken Thursday.  I hope he cooperates.  We are going to go back home this weekend.  I am glad.  I am going crazy here everyday by myself.  It's tough.  Hopefully this trip goes well.  Jojo has his one month checkup on Monday :(  Will post after his appointment.

Here are some pics of Jojo at 2 weeks.  He is pretty cute if I do say so myself.

2 weeks old

Hard to believe that Jojo is two weeks old already.  He is such a good baby.  We are all doing well and adjusting to life with a baby.  I am getting a little cabin fever.  I am not used to staying in one place for to long.  Jojo had a doctor appointment last Monday which was a success.  He had gained 2 oz since being released from the hospital.  We had to go back on Friday for another check up on weight.  Gained 4 oz between Monday and Friday.  He is almost back up to his birth weight.  We don't have to go back until he is 1 month old.  Time is flying by already.  I am sure I will long for these days in the near future.  Jojo does well eating and sleeping thru the night.  I am very lucky once again to have a such a good baby.  Aunt Amy came over today and watched Jojo while Momma went to the doctor.  She said he was good for her.  I am glad.  I was worried the whole time I was gone.  I knew he was in good hands though.  I will leave you with a couple pics that I haven't posted.  I love the"BIG GUY" photo.  Probably my favorite so far.

Hope everyone is doing well.  Will update again next week

Welcome Joseph Lee Malone!

As most of my readers know Joseph Lee was welcomed into this world a week ago today.  What a joy it is to be a parent.  I never knew how blessed one person could be.  Now I do.  I love my lil Jojo with all my heart.

Here is Joseph's birth story.

I started contracting about 3 am on Sunday February 27.  They were pretty regular the whole time.  They started out between 7-8 minutes apart. They continued like this for hours.  I also was nauseated and vomited.  Not my idea of fun.  I called the doctor and he said to continue to monitor the contractions and call back when they were 5 minutes apart.  So that is what we did.  I tried to stay up and walk around.  Once they reached 5 minutes apart I called the doctor back and this time was told they needed to be that way for 2 hours straight.  Not what I wanted to hear.  I wanted to get this show on the road.  SO again we continued to track.  I would get close to 2 hrs. of 5min apart and they would slow a bit.  If i sat or laid down this affected them too.  So once again I paced around the house.  Not the most fun thing to do.  The contractions started to be more regular.  I decided to take a hot shower.  Later to find out that was a big mistake.  Finally at about 445 I called the doctor and she said to head into the hospital.  I will say those contractions are a bit uncomfortable.  We arrived at the hospital about 530.  I had to fill out some paperwork before being taken back.  Once I was monitored and checked I was taken to a labor and delivery room.  I asked for my epidural.  Not wanting to take the chance of not getting it.  I was 5 cm dilated.  Woo Hoo!  Doctor Jones would have to come in and break my water.  The babies heart rate was tachy.  That scared me and they asked if I had taken a hot shower before coming in.  Yep I sure had.  So they had to position me different ways and they got his heart rate stabilized.  Epidural was nothing to it.  After I got it was just a waiting game.  Once my water was broken they then started me on potocin.  This was about 9pm.  Doctor kept a check on me and the nurse kept a close eye on the baby.  At midnight still no baby.  I was beginning to wonder if he really wanted to make a debut.  The next time Doctor Jones came in was when she gave me the bad news.  I had to have a csection.  I was so upset.  But Joseph wasn't making his way out like he should, my cervix hadn't fully dilated, and he was face up.  So it was off to have a csection.  The room was cold and sterile.  I was numbed form the waist down and couldn't feel a thing.  Jason had to wait to come in with me. I was scared.  Finally Jason was back with me and they begin.  That was the longest wait of my life to hear my little boy cry.  But when he did I cried tears of joy.  What a prefect little boy.  Jason was so proud of him.  All that was left was for them to finish me up and then on to recovery.  Recovery was a bit of a blur to me.  Jason had Jojo and I was laying there shivering.  Jojo had to go to the nursery for his bath and Jason went with him.  I was taken to my mother baby room.  Shortly after arriving in my room Jason and Jojo joined me.  Our family together at last.

Joseph Lee Malone was born at 2:50 am weighing 8 lbs 3oz and 20.5" long and a full head of dark hair.

I was very blessed with a healthy pregnancy and not a very bad labor and delivery.  I had the best doctors and nurses taking care of me.  I am very grateful.

Here are just a few pics of baby Jojo when he was born.  Stayed tuned as I continue to document his life.
