35 weeks!

35 weeks it's hard to believe.  Last weekend was our first weekend not going home.  I will sure miss that over the next while.  It will be worth it in the long run though.  Jason and I did get a lot accomplished Saturday.  I over did it and paid for it Sunday.  We got the border up in the baby's room and all the furniture together that we have so far.  It's coming together nicely.  Sunday my mom, sister, and gran came down to help finish up a few things as well.  I was glad they did since I wasn't feeling the best.  I appreciate all they do for me.

At 35 weeks Baby M   doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.  Baby M is getting plump and the fat deposits begin to form which add fullness to the baby’s arms and legs.

As you can tell Baby M still doesn't have a name.  I am not optimistic he will have a name before he is born.  His daddy is in no hurry to pick a name.  I think part of the reason is because everyone keeps asking and also he is never very quick at decision making.  On another note this weekend is round two of baby showers.  Hoping everyone that is coming has a great time and enjoys themselves.  Will post pictures next week.  I have a doctor appointment next Friday and this marks the first of my weekly appointments.  Won't be long til Baby M gets to meet the world.

34 weeks!

Still moving right along.  Feeling pretty good still.  Had an appointment this morning with the doctor.  After making me wait for 45mintues she finally came into tell me all is well.  Baby M must not have like waiting either he wasn't very cooperate when she was looking for his heartbeat.  I laughed to myself.  Before she came in he was moving all around and kicking up a storm.  Heart rate was in the high 140's.  Next appointment is February 4.  At that time I will start going every week.  Hard to believe its almost time to meet my little man.  Very exciting.

This week Baby M weighs about 4 3/4-5lbs and is almost 18 inches long.  His fat layers-which help regulate his body temp once he is born are filling him out, and lungs are continuing to mature.  Baby M is also developing his own immune system, instead of relying solely on antibodies received through the placenta.  Most of his organs are now mature.  His hair is growing fast and he is learning to blink as well.  His fingers and finger nails are well developed and facial features are also clearer now.

This will be out first weekend home.  No more travelling for me.  It is bittersweet.  It will be nice to be able to stay at my house and hopefully get Baby M's room ready.  On the other hand I will miss my family and friends terribly.  Hopefully they will come visit me.

That's all for this week.  Hope every one has a good weekend .

Baby Shower #1

On January 8th , a baby shower was thrown in my honor by our families.  It was a very nice shower with lots of food, friends and family.  We are very fortunate to have such wonderful people in our lives.  The weather was a little crappy so some people weren't able to make it.  We missed you all.  I would like to thank everyone for their hard work in preparing for my shower.  It was very nice.  Baby M will be blessed to have you all in his life when he arrives.  Here are a few pictures from the shower.

33 Weeks!

I would like to start this post with a great big THANK YOU to all my family and friend back home for the wonderful shower.  Jason, Baby M , and I are truly blessed to have each and everyone of you in our lives.  Baby M received many, many lovely presents.  Now we just have to get on the ball and get this room organized.  Thanks again to all who braved the weather to make my shower extra special.

This week Baby M is being compared to several different things this week.  He weigh approximately 4.5 lbs that of a grown duck or weight of a pineapple.  He is 17.5" long the length of collarbone length pearl necklace.
The bones in your baby's skull are soft and are not yet fused together. This pliability allows the bones to overlap; making that trip down the tight birth canal possible (and resulting in that surprising cone head look your baby will sport for the first few days post-birth. Don't worry, it's totally normal and that's what hats are for.)

Amniotic-fluid level has maxed out, which explains why some of the pokes and kicks feel pretty sharp these days. (There's less fluid to cushion the blows.) Antibodies are being passed from me to Baby M as he continues to develop his own fetal immune system, which will come in handy once he's outside the womb and fending off all sorts of germs.

Baby M’s senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through my belly.

Well thats about all the updates I have for this week.  This will be my last weekend home til after Baby M makes his appearence.  It's going to be tough but its for the best.

32 weeks!

Happy New Year everyone!  Wish you all health and happiness in the new year.

Well this week has been productive so far.  I met with the pediatrician and decided I really them.  So BabyM has a doctor.  YAY!  One more thing crossed off the list.  Now we just need to start and finish the babies room and find a daycare/sitter.  It will all happen in due time.  I am hoping to go to Frederick tonight and check out somethings I want for the baby's closet. We will have plenty of stuff to fill it after this weekend.  My baby shower will be Saturday.  Hoping the weather man is right and we won't have much snow.

As of today everything is still going well with the pregnancy.  Doc is pleased with everything.  Heart rate was 134-136 and I am measuring right on target.  Back again in 2 weeks.

Baby M is very active in the evenings.  He kicks me all evening long it feel like.  I am very fortunate to be experiencing this miracle.  Baby M is approximately 3.5-4 lbs and 17' long.  Skin is less transparent and more opaque.  He has been practicng for life in the real world by blinking, looking around, grabbing things, making faces, practicing breathing, and listening to everything around him.  Baby M will start putting on more weight. He will put on approximately .5lb per week until he is born.

Still no progress on the name front.  Jason says he has plenty of time to decide on a name.  So I guess I will be patient.  I just would love to be able to call him by a name instead of baby or he/him.  Jason calls him "the boy"  and that annoys me.  Oh well in due time I am sure.

Til next week.
